Job description:
We are looking to hire an AWP (Aerial Work Platform) technician who will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of various types (Manlift, Scissor lifts, Spider lifts, Spider cranes) of elevated platforms used for tasks such as construction, maintenance, and other elevated work.
Responsibilities typically include:
Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspecting AWPs to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. Performing routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, changing filters, lubricating moving parts, and conducting functional tests.
Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues. Identifying and addressing faults in control systems, engines, hydraulic systems, and safety features.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring that AWPs comply with industry safety standards and regulations. Conducting safety checks before and after repairs to ensure safe operation. Documenting repairs and maintenance activities for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
Emergency Repairs: Responding to emergency repair calls in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness. Troubleshooting and resolving issues on-site to quickly restore functionality.
Parts Management: Managing inventory of spare parts and components required for repairs and maintenance. Ordering and replacing parts as necessary to avoid extended equipment downtime.
Training and Support: Providing training to operators and users on safe and proper operation of AWPs. Offering guidance and technical support to operators to prevent operational errors and ensure the longevity of equipment.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and any modifications made to the equipment. These records are essential for tracking the history of the equipment and for compliance purposes.
Diagnostic Tools and Software: Utilizing diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and troubleshoot complex problems in electronic and computer-controlled systems.
Continuous Learning: Staying updated with advancements in AWP technology and repair techniques through training and professional development opportunities.
Communication: Effectively communicating with supervisors, operators, and colleagues to report findings, discuss repair options, and provide status updates on ongoing repairs.
Quality Control: Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are carried out to a high standard to minimize the likelihood of recurring issues.
Workplace Safety: Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines when performing repairs and maintenance. Promoting a safe work environment for both technicians and operators.
Requirements:
Proven work experience on all kind of AWPs JLG, Genie, Haulotte, Jeiko, Maida, Platform baskets.
Must be technically sound and understanding electrical system and safety systems of equipment.
Must be a Team player.
Able to read and deal with diagnostic tools of different brands of machines.
Able to flash software to modules.
Fresh Graduates are also encouraged to apply.
UAE driving license is an added advantage
